Holographic ~ Nfu Oh #65

Call me a nail lacquer freak now. So be it. I can't stop decorating my nails with funky colors & fimos anymore.

Anyway, I bought a SUPER rare nail lacquer from ebay 2 weeks ago and its brand is Nfu Oh. It's in fact a korean brand but they were freaking expensive, yet their lacquers are all super holographic. It wasn't easy for me to get hold of one & to think I actually got it at 27 bucks! Not exactly cheap but oh well, what to do when I have a terrible soft spot for holographic colors?

The bottle itself is already so pretty! I almost couldn't bear to open it and honestly speaking, I could already see the holo effects through the bottle without applying it. Amazing yeah...

Seeing is believing. This lacquer does worth its value for his holographic effect. It just simply dazzles me~

See that? That's REAL holo, by far the most holographic nail lacquer I came across. And I am gonna stalk ebay everyday till I get hold of the rest of them!

My Adventure with Fimo Canes

I really envy those people who had the luxury of time to go for manicure that turned out with pretty nails and nail art. Due to my heavy commitment with my child, I really can't afford the time to go for such enjoyment. And so, my recent obsession with nail lacquers spurred me into a craze of DIY manicure.

I've discovered from a shopping website that Fimo Canes a.k.a Polymer Clay are available for sale. Those fimo canes are those tiny weeny 3D sorta object which you can attach them on yr nails. I've seen photos of manicured nails with them and hence, I go ahead & ordered some fimo canes to try them out.

When my package arrived, I was so super happy with it & upon opening it, I finally saw how the fimo canes looked like...

Note my finger against the canes. VERY small only! They are not more than 5cm long per cane but they seriously make hell lot of fimo slices out of these little small rod canes! I cut them myself using a penknife & depending on your own preference, you can cut them up thick or thin ^^.

There, my own private collection of fimo cane slices cut all by myself. There's even a Hello Kitty design with it (center compartment)! Found the flower pretty matching to my current nail color, China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy & decided to conduct my 1st fimo nail art experiment.

Tada~! Though I think they will look better with more fimo but I really don't wanna waste my fimo slices when I already plan to change my nail color with another soon.

Am planning to order more fimo canes soon once I accessed my March's credit card damages! Can't wait!

Neon, Neon! So Preeeetty!

My recent obsession towards nail lacquers just made me did something out of my own expectation. That is....I bought a neon pink-ish lacquer! I was always skeptical on colours that are too outstanding for fret of the outcome turning ugly but somehow, I was proven otherwise! And so, I bought China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy & applied it on my nails.

Color of the nails are not exactly accurate as this was taken via Instagram.
They look much more neon in fact!

See how bright & neon it looks? It's just so bloody nice! However, I am a sucker at creme-based lacquers so I actually applied China Glaze's Fairy Dust on it to cover up my tracks. Considered a good move actually :D

Don't get me wrong. Creme-based nail lacquers are fine to get but they just aren't my best friend when it comes to applying them. Looks to me that for me to use creme-based lacquers, I for sure needs to use another top coat to cover my tracks. Also used my recent bought/cut fimo canes on them but shall put the photo up on my next post ^^.

My new toy ~ Olympus XZ-1~!

I am proud to present my new toy camera brought back from IT Show today - Olympus XZ-1!

The front view looks like this but I didn't take it as I am still charging it! (Too anxious to get it started so I charged it the moment I stepped into my house, HAHA!)

The sales crew told me that I gotta charge my battery for at least 7 hours for 1st charge, hence, I was so excited to take any photo before I start charging...

Initially, there were 3 models I was looking at to be my choice of camera - Canon Powershot s95, Lumix LX5 and Olympus XZ-1. Was very interested to get s95 since I am looking at compact camera but after a review from my colleague who just got it recently, I decided to drop the idea of getting s95. Negative review of cos...Then, it boils down to LX5 and XZ-1. Since these 2 models are very competitive, I decided to seek for professional's help a.k.a ClubSnap Forum. In the forum, it appeared that the review for LX5 wasn't that great at all & the turn-off came to me when I saw that it was pretty poor in Night Mode....can't really have too much motion else the photo will get really blurry >.<

Upon stumbling there, I learned that DPreview.Com is a very famous website within the photography world & thus, I went there to seek for more advices on what I should get. There, I went to the reviews of LX5 and XZ-1:

Panasonic Lumix LX5 - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/q42010highendcompactgroup/

Olympus XZ-1 - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/OlympusXZ1/

This site is the ultimate place that firmed up my decision. Upon reading both reviews, I set my mind onto buying XZ-1. At Olympus' booth in IT Show, I learned that other than the Art Filters which I am interested in, the Soft Focus within Art Filter is one of the focus too. Apparently, it isn't easy to implement a Soft Focus filter within a camera, according to the sales crew...

Oh well, things went hay-wired again when I was physically at IT Show. I discovered E-PL1 was on offer, a really good offer indeed - $698 with lotsa freebies! They actually gave $300 off from the retail price! I was so tempted to get it as after trying the camera, the quality's really good! But well, in the end, I still chose my initial decision's camera, XZ-1 due to the fact that it has SLR features but compact camera while E-PL1 has SLR features with interchangeable lens. If i don't have a kid, I may just consider getting it. But with a kid in toll, how to move around with such a bulky camera? Get my point right?????

Never mind, most important fact now is I bought this baby home & I promised myself I'll make good use of it. That means more photos in future too! The sales crew was generous enough to offer me 2 16GB SD cards instead of 1 8GB with 1 16GB SD card along with other freebies.

Now, this camera get me all excited & I really can't wait to start snapping around with this new toy!

Tape Manicure - 1st attempt

In my previous post on nails obsession, I mentioned that I'll be attempting tape manicure soon. And so, here's how I did it:
Making use of my current color - OPI 'Give Me The Moon'. I decided to keep it for this tape manicure cos I simply hate the idea of re-painting my nails ALL OVER again should I fail...As shown on the photo above, I used a scotch tape to do my tape manicure (any scotch tape will do) but please ensure your nail polish is already dried up!
There, a coat of new color - Del So 'RockStar' was applied to the area I did not cover. The trick now is...you gotta remove the tape quickly after you finished applying yr color on it. If you wait too long to remove the tape, it is highly possible your new color will peel along with your tape.

Repeat the process with the rest of your nails and here's how they will look on your fingers:
This marks my 1st attempt at tape manicure! Frankly speaking, i quite like this color combination + the tape manicure result! Feels so accomplished hehe!

There are a lot of designs u can play with the tape. I'm already thinking on my next design with a new set of color combination! This certainly is fun!!! Not only that, i can save my $$ for going to manicurist, kekeke!

*Please pardon the blur photos as I took it too quickly & by then, it's too late to retake! Next one shall take clearer photos!

1st Loot from StrawberryNet

A happy woman is a happy woman indeed. All because I did my first purchase with StrawberryNet & I simply LOVE their service...& item of cos!

Ordered my Lancome Makeup Remover from there & the packaging's damn good. 1 remover only but comes with such big box + foam chunks.

As if like this is not secured enough, my Lancome makeup remover is bubble-wrapped somemore!

Very good condition in terms of packaging right!? Really secure my order till I speechless!

Oh, one more thing. Other than my order, I received another item too. That's because by being a new customer to order from StrawberryNet, I was entitled for a free gift!

I am so gonna patronize this shop again though this time, i may consider buying a perfume instead, hehe!
