My Part-time Distraction - AIKASEA

Other than my nail obsession I am so hooked onto recently, I also have a part-time distraction away from my nail obsession. That will be a new online MMORPG game - AIKASEA ^^.

I used to be a really hardcore WOW (World of Warcraft) player of 3 years. However, due to my recent childbirth, I was too committed into caring for my little one & was hence unable to commit to WoW's frequent raiding (due to my baby being tooooo young at that time). Hence, I quit WoW almost 1.5 years back and never return since.

And so, I began my online adventure in AIKASEA (Launched in April) by creating a class I always like to create in almost all of the MMORPGs I played - Priest. Amidst the classes in AIKASEA, there is also other variety to choose from and they are mainly Dark Magician, Warrior, Crusader, Sniper and Dual Gunner. Took a lovely screenshot of my very own character within the game too though I am still at a very much low level myself, haha!

My level 12 Priest! Low but still levelling ok!

Saw the sparkling little thing hovering around my character? That's a PRAN! But..it's just a fairy now. In time to come, it will develop into an infant (kid) Pran, followed by a teenage Pran ^^. The Pran can really look so damn kawaii just like those anime characters! One day, I hope to really get my Pran to look like her:

Soooooo Kawaii!

Or her?

She's so 'Princess

Really can't wait to see my Pran turn into such adorable look!

Though I won't know if I will ever get a chance to participate in this since I usually have to tend to my little one at home when this goes on but it's worth to participate if chance falls upon me. Other than the kawaii Pran, AIKA's other main feature will be its Massive Warfare - 1000 vs 1000 War. Not only that, they also have other types of war such as Castle Seige, Relic War and Nation War. Have tried none of them since I am still so low level but I know if time allows, and of course, if level allows, I sure must try!

Now, I may not be able to participate the war(s) yet, looking at the screenshots may just curb my temptation...for now. Really hope I can try it out sometime soon (Get my little one to bed REAL early? LOL!).

Obviously, the screenshots are all 'koped' a.k.a copied from all over internet, apart from the very 1st screenshot I posted cos that's my own character, haha! Hopefully, I can own a better collection of my very own screenshots someday which I can proudly post them here ^^.

If my post here has made you interested into knowing more about AIKA, or even want to play AIKA, just go visit AIKASEA's website here - www.AIKASEA.com

Sometimes, really sometimes, when I tell myself I cannot spend so much time surfing for nail art/nail lacquers related stuff which will cause me to spend, I will really make myself go into AIKASEA, LOL! See, that's what i meant as my Part-time distraction!

Off I go to level my Priest, and my little Pran fairy, which in hope to turn into kawaii Pran now! Tada~!

Lubu Heels, Pretty & Stunning~

My original plan for the 'Manicure of the Week' wasn't supposed to be this. My intention was to try to swatch OPI's Not Like the Movies which Angela had T-loan to me when I mentioned to her about buying. I'm glad I did not! OPI's Not Like the Movies is just too streaky for me to like it & thus, I change my color for the week.

China Glaze's Lubu Heels on the other hand, is so smooth to apply on my nails! I believe their brush is one of the main factor for the easy application. Was seriously lacking inspiration for nail art due to me struggling with Not Like the Movie's streaky application, I decided to just put on some rhinestones on my nails instead. The picture isn't doing justice to both the color and the rhinestone perhaps due to the lighting. But! The outcome from Lubu Heels' is absolutely stunning!

I know there can be more done to my nails to just putting some stones on them but please understand the frustration I had to go through to remove the nail lacquer I thought I'd like prior to this...Argh.

Happy Easter Day!

Happy Easter Day everyone!

Although I do not really celebrate Easter Day, I was inspired to design a DIY Easter Manicure for myself now that I am so into DIY manicure, hehe.

Initially, I wanted to create Easter Egg Manicure on my nails. You know, those that have many different colors of easter eggs with polka dots on them. However, it seems that many people are already adopting that idea, or rather, using multiple colors to represent easter, and so, I decided on another design instead.

For this design, I did not use any China Glaze or OPI nail lacquers. Just FaceShop and Etude House's nail lacquers - PP401 and GR606. Other than that, I also used a silver glittery nail polish that comes with a thin brush from PR International to draw boundary lines between my 2 colors. I didn't plan on a tutorial for this manicure as the colors were changed on a last minute basis where I originally wanted to match yellow with GR606 (green) but the yellow lacquer was too hard to apply (streaky). Adds on to my hate for creme-based lacquers, arghhh. Oh, and I added Fimo slices on them too. How can I forget my fimos, hehe!

The finished product of my Easter Manicure ^^. Although it's not very Easter (I think), I feel that the color combination along with my fimo slices (Thanks to my colleague for sharing her Easter Egg fimo cane with me!) do make this manicure a success :D Honestly speaking, this design looks kinda sweet on my nails :P

After this, I gotta rest my nails for a day or 2 to give them some treatment before I proceed to my next manicure. Can't torture them for the sake of beauty right?!

Undying Obsession ~ New batch of Fimo Canes!

Title says it all - my new batch of fimo canes have arrived!

Bought this off eBay at less than 8 bucks and they contain 100 fimo canes + blade! However, they come in only 50 designs so the other 50 are duplicates. In order not to waste them, Angela (my colleague) chipped in with me and bought off the other 50 designs. Seriously, I deeply apologise for influencing so many people into buying fimo canes cos I was the one started the fimo canes craze...

The designs are randomly picked by the seller & upon receiving them, I made a check and found out that there are about 5 designs I already owned. Consider not bad already since this is a totally randomised order & there's only have 5 designs included in the ones I owned! Most of them are fruits but I believe I will be able to think of a more complicated fimo nail art to accommodate them :D

Time to cut cut cut my fimo canes into slices~!

Rampage on Nail Lacquers~

I didn't know what the hell made me do this but I actually did it.

I believe it to be my anxiety to own a variety of nail lacquers collection and also more choices to play alongside my fimo nail art, thus, on a very hectic lunchtime during one of the work days, I literally dashed to 2 shops - Eilanto & The Faceshop to grab the following lacquers...

Yeah, majority of them are pastel colors. These colors are what I am lacking in my collection of nail lacquers. I am in fact not exactly a fan of pastel colors when it comes to nail lacquers so I decided to grab these bottles that only cost me $2.90 each ^^. Am only willing to splurge on unique & pretty ones from China Glaze, Nfu Oh or even Nubar! Don't wanna waste my money on pastel colors from such good brands since I think I will seldom apply them anyway.

However, 2 days after I bought them, I swatched one of them onto my nails. Surprisingly, it turned out damn well!

Yes! I swatched the Baby Pink nail lacquer from Eilanto! There's no exact name to it so I can only call it a baby pink nail lacquer >.<

It really surprised me that the application was so great! It's not exactly streaky but formula's kinda thick in a way thus, thin but more coats shall do the job. Wanted to play tape manicure on them but the baby pink was so captivating that I couldn't bear to put or do anything to my nails! Let me just have them clean for a day or more before i start putting my fimo or tape manicure over them :D

Now, I know where to get cheap yet good nail lacquers, hehe! ^^

April Fool from PayPal?

This is kinda outdated post. It happened on an April Fool's day which i almost thought it to be a joke from PayPal.

On 1st April, I received a email from Paypal notifying me that a payment has been sent out to XXX. it wasn't really a big amount but the fact that i made no such transaction puzzlee me. I recalled making a transaction via ebay for my fimo canes but definitely not to this seller. Feeling terribly shocked, i filed an unauthorised claim a.k.a Transaction Dispute to PayPal.

Irregardless it's an April Fool joke or not, I am one who's damn skeptical about internet fraud thus i rather not risk ignoring. To a certain extent, i was quite worried PayPal would't refund me the money.

After about 6 days i filed this dispute, PayPal got back to me & informed me about my money being able to be refunded to me. Phew, this really set my mind at ease! Now, i just need to ensure my bank will void this transaction off or else i sure make a fuss to the bank!

After this incident, i really don't dare to perform any transaction at any PC except for the one at home. Seriously, this pretty much makes me feel a little unsafe using PayPal but given its credibility at its service, i should perhaps trust it one last time...

Did you encounter your share of such experience like mine with PayPal too?

Tape Manicure + Fimo Nail Art

Alas, I am finally performing 2 types of nail art into 1, hehe...This time, I actually tried tape manicure + fimo nail art to see how nice/bad it'll turn out...on my first attempt on such combination.

First, I applied China Glaze's 'Side Saddle' on my nails. They actually looked kinda chocolaty purple but the chocolaty color has won the upper hand.

Pardon the mess - Forgot to clean up before snapping them down...

Next, I used scotch tape to perform tape manicure over my nails with Etude House's nail lacquer (no name). It's a peachy color though.

Looks more like gold than peach color ya? It puzzled me too when I saw the result...

Last but not the least, I added fimo ribbons onto my nails for more drastic effect!

There you go! My very own combination of manicure nail art! What do you think? Does it look nice and pretty? I kinda love the outcome of my very own manicure combination and I can't wait to try out more designs, my very own creation! ^^

'Zebra' Manicure!

Over the last weekend, I swatched a nail lacquer which I just acquired online - China Glaze's 'The Ten Men'. It wasn't the easiest lacquer to swatch but I think apparently, some of my friends commented that the silver looked good on my nails. Please do not get me wrong, The Ten Men is not a bad nail lacquer, but perhaps just had a different kind of formula which is just not the easiest to be applied...I was pretty annoyed by the obvious brush strokes on my thumb, so I decided to do a tape manicure over them.

Wanted to snap the progress of my tape manicure for this but they were just too messy. With the tape manicure I had in mind, they required too many tapes & my hands on this day, just broke out in sweat far too often. With sweat breaking out, making the tapes sticking on the nails were really challenging T_T"
Nonetheless, I completed them!

Don't be shocked if you see the designs being inconsistent, I purposely wanted them this way. In order to show such design, every nail required almost 3 stripes of scotch tapes! In the end, after the tape manicure was completed, I began to feel my nails look resembling 'zebra' stripes. And yes they really does! Hence, I named my tape manicure of this as 'Zebra' manicure, hehe! Not too shabby ya? I know improvements are required of cos! I really hope to do more different style of tape manicure for the fun of it and also to lighten my own life by a fair bit!

I already have in mind my next tape manicure and for this upcoming design, I intend to blend both tape manicure and fimo nail art together! Wish me luck & you shall see the outcome soon enough!

Fimo Nail Art ~ Yummylicious!

Was swatching a minty green nail lacquer from Etude House which I love the color very much & decided to add some fimo slices on them since they made quite a good combination ^^v!

This time, I used strawberry and apply fimos for my fimo nail art & they worked great with my minty green nail lacquer!

You might be wondering why i did not used the designs on all my nails. I kinda think it might be overkill if I was to put the fimos on all my nails. But, alternating looks fine too ya?

Oh my, can't wait to play with the rest of the designs of my fimos!

Fimo Canes Craze

Wahahaha, honestly speaking...I don't think my obsession for fimo canes will die down anytime soon since it's the 1 thing that got me interested into DIY nail art first. With a few more colleagues I happened to enticed into this fimo canes' craze, we ordered a few more designs. Below are mine!

Love the Melody design! Prefer the red one than the pink one, hehe!

Now, with the new designs coming in, I can no longer contain them in my tiny 8-compartment container, therefore, have to upgrade my container. Bought a real nice one near my workplace & I simply love how organised they are!

Now I have 22 designs of fimos! Am so loving it and I personally think that I've improved greatly on slicing them up! Hmm, I think I can slice them up to 90+ slices which is already very good since most sellers said can cut up to 100 pieces, hehe! As I said, my craze isn't stopping here cos there's more to come :D

If anyone of you are interested to buy pre-sliced fimos, can come to me! ^^
